The vegan dessert you won’t feel guilty eating everyday

As I’ve mentioned in a few posts, I’m really focused on healthy plant-based eating… which has meant finding a new way to satisfy my sweet tooth without having to feel too guilty.

Drumroll please…. I’m absolutely in love with Delreal’s Organic Medjool Dates!!!! They’re a product out of Salinas, CA and they shit on (pardon my French…) all other dates I’ve ever tried.  They’re plump, flavorful, rich, the outside is never dried out like you often find in other brands, they’re just amazing.  Special shout-out to my friend Erica for introducing me to these little babies over a year ago… I’m forever grateful!!!

So the dates are delicious by themselves BUT if you want to fancy them up a bit, change the flavor profile, maybe even add some crunch, it is SUPER easy to do.  I like to add peanut butter or almond butter and sprinkle some coconut flakes on top.  I also love to add sliced almonds and/or hemp seeds for a little extra crunch.  They make a great side dish or dessert and the best thing is that they’re NOT even that bad for you (however they are high in natural sugar so beware of eating too many.)

I find that if I eat one or two with a tiny bit of peanut or almond butter, my sweet cravings subside because they’re quite rich, and I don’t feel as guilty as I would with a cookie or scoop of ice cream.

I buy Delreal’s Organic Medjool Dates at Whole Foods Market.  However, in a pinch Trader Joe’s also has Medjool Dates in the produce section that are pretty good as well.
